  • Intended Participants: Faculty members and staff members who participate in hearing panels adjudicating cases of sexual misconduct for institutions of higher education
  • Course Summary: During this training we will review:
    • Relevant law, guidance, and cases
    • The investigative process and the role of the hearing panel
    • Assessing the information provided to the panel in making a determination

In addition, the training will include a hands-on component during which the hearing panel will be provided with a hypothetical report and will analyze the information provided to make a determination based on the preponderance of the evidence.  Factors in assessing credibility also will be discussed.
